About Us

Scarlett Rose Sensory was created by a small family in Leicestershire. The idea came from me, with a big help from my two little girls.

Back in 2016, I became a Mummy to my beautiful little girl.  As a first time mum, wondering what I can do for my little one to help her develop and grow, I eagerly signed up to the local baby groups and sensory play classes. We had such a positive experience learning so much from each other. Watching her discover the world around her, exploring her little senses. I could see how much she would benefit from sensory play. I was captivated. I loved developing her mind and skills. I soon realised a career change was to come, something just as rewarding and fulfilling as being a parent. I found a perfect role working in a special needs school.

Then in 2019 we had another beautiful little girl. Again, I wanted to rush and join the baby and sensory classes as I did with my first born. However, this proved difficult due to her being in and out of hospital for the first 8 months. My poor little baby, going through so much in the crucial learning stages, I felt she was missing out on so much.

I decided I needed to bring the sensory play to her. I did plenty of research and with working in a special needs school, I had a good knowledge and lovely friendship groups with great advice. With my creative flare, I started to create a sensory experience for her at home. Her curiosity came to life, she would be mesmerised by smallest of movements. Responding to the slightest of sound, to the soft touch of a feather. It was a joy watching her explore all her senses. She was so engaged and focused, yet with a sense of calm.

With trips in and out of hospital becoming more frequent, I wanted to keep our sensory sessions going. I created a “grab & go bag” with all her favourite sensory items inside. We took our sensory bag with us everywhere we went. The convenience of having something to hand, to keep her engaged and happy worked really well. We had many compliments from nurses and other parents about our little sensory bag. I wanted to share my idea of how easy & fun development can be.
